Tue 1 Dec – Wed 6 Jan 2021

This year, for the first time, Compton Verney have turned their Georgian mansion house into a giant 3-D advent calendar and they invited the local artist community to help us do this. I was fortunate to have my painting that depicts Compton Verney in the summer looking across the lake, selected for the exhibition. As a member of Comptone Verney I regularly fish at Compton Verney and during the summer of 2020 I was inspired to paint the beautiful view that can now be seen adorning one of the windows on the stunning Georgian mansion house. It's not every day that your artwork is featured in such a prominent place in a wonderful location for the public to enjoy. If you haven't been to see the exhibition I would highly recommend a visit!

RBSA Prize Exhibition 2020

8 October - 16 January

The RBSA stages an annual Prize exhibition as part of its charitable work to support artists, providing an opportunity for artists to show their artwork and be rewarded for their talents.

One of the RBSA’s most prominent exhibitions of the year, the Prize Exhibition aims to reduce some of the common barriers to exhibiting such as limited budgets and time.

Due to Tier 3 restrictions, the Prize Exhibition on floors 1& 2 is closed. A small selection of works from the exhibition can be viewed in the Ground Floor retail space which remains open as usual.

River Dene, Charlecote, oil on canvas, 4

The Artist Magazine 1 Year Subscription:
Andrew Field

It was fantastic to receive news that my painting 'River Dene, Charlecote' had been selected for the annual 'Prize Exhibition' but to have won a prize was terrific! The painting itself was inspired by a visit to the National Trust's 'Charlecote Park' in Warwickshire during the Autumn. It was created in one session using oil on canvas. The painting is currently on display at the RBSA Gallery in Birmingham until January 16th. You can view the exhibition online by clicking here

Highgate Contemporary Art

Works on Paper

Sunday 14th June at 10am - 12th July 2020
About the Exhibition

I am delighted to be taking part in this group exhibition which includes many well established and highly respected artists. The works on paper have been created with oil paint on cotton rag paper, which has a beautiful deckle edge as it has been handmade in an ancient paper mill in Somerset. I have included seven pieces and they are a continuation of my Cornish series. I visited Cornwall with the family last year and they paintings for this exhibition are based on visual references, memories and feelings towards Cornwall and in particular St Ives. All works are available for purchase through Highgate Contemporary Art.
